Cookbook Map is a personal website. There are no accounts, forms or comments, and we don't ask for or collect your name, email address or any other personal details.

Stored in your own browser

The map remembers your choice of map projection and your All / Our shelf / Wishlist filter, so they're the same next time you visit. It also remembers, for the current visit only, which country you're browsing from, so it can send you to the right Amazon store. These settings stay in your browser and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Hosting and visitor statistics

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. To choose an Amazon store, the page asks Cloudflare which country your connection comes from; that request goes to the same Cloudflare server that delivers the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies and gives us totals (such as page views and visitors' countries), not information about individual people. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Book covers

Most covers are our own photos, served from this site. Some come from Open Library, a project of the Internet Archive; for those, your browser connects to Open Library's servers, which can see your IP address. See the Internet Archive's terms and privacy policy.

Amazon links

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The "Buy on Amazon" buttons are affiliate links: if you follow one and buy something, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Third parties, including Amazon, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, to collect information when you follow those links. Once you're on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy notice applies. Amazon tells us which items were ordered through our links, not who ordered them.

Children

This site is not directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.
